منذ أكثر من قرن ودار العجزة في اسطنبول التي أُسست بأمر
من السلطانعبد الحميد خان قبل 124 عامًا، تقدم شتى أنواع الرعاية للمسنين
وإضافة إلى المسنين تحتضن الدار ذوي الاحتياجات الخاصة والأطفال وسائر المحتاجين
إلى الرعاية الطبية دون تفريق بين دين أو عرق أو جنس أو لغة.

وتتألف من طابقين وتضم حوالي 500 مسن وتعد مؤسسة خيرية لا مثيل لها في العالم
إذ تضم دور العبادة المختلفة من المسجد إلى الكنيسة والكنيس كما تحتوي على مركز لإعادة التأهيل
حيث يشارك المسنون في إنتاج أدوات متنوعة ما يساهم في إدخال البهجة إلى نفوسهم.
وتتبع اليوم لوزارة شؤون الأسرة والعمل والخدمات الاجتماعية
وتقدم الاحتياجات الأساسية للنزلاء من لباس وطعام ورعاية صحية.
وكانت دار العجزة قد أُسست في زمن الإمبراطورية العثمانية في عهد السلطان عبد الحميد خان
بهدف العناية برعاياها على اختلاف أديانهم حيث تتضمن مسجدا وكنيسة وكنيسا
وما زالت تفتح أبوابها للعبادة حتى يومنا هذا.
وفي لقاء مع الأناضول يقول مدير دار العجزة السيد حمزة جيبجي:
“يوجد في الدار الآن حوالي 500 مسن وهذا الرقم غير ثابت”.
ويضيف أن سعتها الإجمالية تبلغ 550 شخصا
مبينا أنها تستقبل حاليا أكثر من 150 مسنا طريح الفراش.
ويشير إلى أن سعة الدار من النزلاء الأطفال تبلغ 50 طفلا
موضحا أن مديرية شؤون الأسرة والعمل والخدمات الاجتماعية في اسطنبول
ترسل إليها الأطفال ذوي الحاجة إلى رعاية صحية.
ولفت بقوله السيد حمزة جيبجي: إلى أن الدار تقدم خدماتها على مدار الساعة
وأن عدد الموظفين فيها يبلغ 450 وفي سياق آخر أفاد بأنه سيتم إنشاء دار عجزة جديدة
في إسطنبول بمنطقة أرناؤوط كوي من قبل رئاسة دور العجزة وبرعاية رئاسة الجمهورية.
وأضاف أن حجر الأساس للدار سيوضع قريبا وستحمل اسم
“مدينة دار العجزة والخدمات الاجتماعية” وأنها ستتألف من بناء
ضخم يبلغ خمسة أضعاف المبنى الحالي.
موضحا أنها ستكون رائدة على مستوى العالم كما سيتم بناء سكن طلابي
ومرأب للسيارات في القسم الخلفي منها بهدف تأمين موارد مادية إضافية للمؤسسة.
وختم حديثه قائلا إن دار العجزة تؤمن احتياجاتها من أموال التبرعات التي تأتيهم من داخل البلاد وخارجها.
